At Heaton Park we aim to enhance the curriculum beyond the normal school day. We provide a range of activities in sport and the arts either during the school day or at the beginning and end of the school day. We also provide opportunities for our children away from school on day trips and residential educational visits.
Our children have the opportunity to take part in a variety of after school clubs. Different activities take place throughout the year such as netball, cricket club and girls and boys football.
Our school enjoys success in a range of sporting and musical activities and regularly competes in a number of local and Bury wide competitions and events. We are very proud of holding the Active Mark Sports Award in recognition of the range of activities we offer. We have strong links with local high schools which further enhances opportunities for everyone.

In addition, our Choir Club has experience of performing to large audiences both in and out of school. They take part in the Beacon Alliance Music Festival each summer and more recently have also undertaken some festive singing at Bury Market.
All Year 3, 4, 5 and 6 have children have the chance to learn to play an instrument in school, through our partnership with Bury Music Service.
