Heaton Park is an inclusive school that strives to provide the best education possible for all its children. Children with different learning needs and disabilities are given the same opportunities as all our children. We work closely with parents and support agencies to ensure that programmes of learning and teaching are developed to ensure maximum progress.
It is sometimes necessary to adapt the curriculum to suit the needs of individual children so that it is more appropriate and allows for better access to learning. All children may experience learning difficulties from time to time and may be given additional small group activities or individual support. Our school has made a number of improvements to the access of the building to allow for disability access with mobility ramps at the front and rear of the building. We also have a changing room with a shower and adapted toilet facilities.
